Susan's Story

I have lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, since 1981. I moved here for graduate school in plant ecology, met my husband(who was born and raised here), and here we still are! I work for an environmental consulting firm and Dan is an engineer with the local electric utility. We have two sons, ...Expand for more
one in his first year at university and one in Grade 11. Fairbanks can be a challenging place to live (right now it is 40 below zero, and the winter days are even shorter than in Ottawa), but it's a friendly town and a lot of fun if you like the outdoors and a down-to-earth lifestyle.
