Susan's Story
Life
CLASS REUNION IN CLEVO LAST NOVEMBER WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! Beth, Mary, Ruta, Monica, and me, like we didn't skip a beat. SO INCREDIBLE, that was one of the best get-togethers possible. Also hooked up with Niva, Cheryl, Billy (rest his soul), and John from Stouffers. OH THAT WAS A PERFECT PERFECT TRIP FROM A to Z.
The history: I'm married, have a two great kids and a little grandson, finished college not once but three times (VA put the love of learning into me, I guess..:) My son is in college and my daughter is about to graduate from Catholic high school, both doing very well, and constantly have us laughing or pulling our hair out, depending on the day - ha! My husband and I are the brokers of our own real estate company, but anyone who knows me also knows I have to be doing something in the arts or I will go mad. Right now I am about 10 percent real estate and 90 percent involved in Wedding & Fashion photography for about the last 2 years. (studio-cphotography DOTcom and bootcampmodels DOTcom. Fill in the rest, the web Nazi's are watching and don't allow websites and so forth. Whatever.) My parents and sisters are doing great, we go on vacations together every year and live only a few hours apart, and my sister Dianne lives in the same community as we do. Besides photography I write for several publications and have written two books, a children's book that is the hands of an illustrator right now, and a collection of tongue-in-cheek stories called THE DEAD CAT AND OTHER REAL ESTATE STORIES FROM H*LL, and others in the works. We love to travel, especially the Caribbean where we've been 4 times, we all snorkel and hike the rainforests ... I love the outdoors especially if it's tropical. We also play Texas Holdem quite frequently and I confess I am addicted.
Life has been very good, no complaints! After graduation I did the usual nutty 18-21 year old partying thing, and...Expand for more
then things began to settle down and fall into place for me. Got my degree in English, and a two-yr degree in Hotel & Restaurant Mgmt, and then in 1990 did a complete change by becoming an RN and getting my Real Estate license at the same time. Graduated in '93, moved to the East coast (where my sister and brother in law had already settled, and had been urging me to come), and have been here ever since. Can't BELIEVE we've been graduated for THIS long, it feels almost unreal. I have stayed in touch with Monica Doyle and Mark Kadis regularly all these years; Kadis and I manage a visit a few times a year and as it turns out we live very close to each other - he was also my cousin Renee's teacher... SMALL world! :) Also found Frankie Gagliardi, Susie Carter, Michelle Birney, and Niva Edmondson (from Stouffers' days). Michael Jones and I have been emailing now for about 5 years, at least until recently. HEY MICHAEL WHERE ARE YOU??? :) Anyway, Life is Good. THANK YOU GOD for EVERYTHING.
School
Grade school in PA through 5th grade; moved to Ohio, went to Christ the King, and the Villa Angela High; CSU, Tri-C (East and downtown campus), and a few classes at Ursuline College. Have degrees in: English, Nursing (RN), Hotel & Restaurant Management, and Real Estate & Brokers license. Still take classes - Sign Language, Italian, Spanish, Art, Photography, whatever interests me. :-) Recently taught at our Community College, and currently focusing on writing and fashion photography in NYC with fashion master Claudio Basso. Fun!
College
Also went to and graduated from Cuyahoga Community College, 3 degrees plus Real Estate license.
(Professional student there for awhile! Lol!)
Workplace
Work is great... Real Estate and photography allow me the flexibility to spend alot of time with my children and grandson. "Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life." -Confucius.
