Susan's Story
Life
After graduating from GW, I went on to get my BA in elementary education from UOG in 1973. I married John Dougherty in 1974. We both taught on the island before moving to California in 1981. We have two children--Dustin, 35 and Erin, 34, grandson Jack who is 4 and grandaughter Cailin who is 2. When we're not teaching, we love vacations in Hawaii, weekends on our boat, and telling everyone we know how great it was to live on Guam!
College

the "on site student teaching" program at Price elementary, spring semester 1973.
There were 13 of us, and I'm sure we had more support and fun than any other student teachers at the time! I taught on the island for 8 years before moving to the mainland with my husband and two children. I retired from teaching last year, and am now enjoying fun with friends, time with the grandkids, and the knowledge that on rainy winter days I can cuddle up with a book or a movie instead of going to school :) I would love to take a trip back to Guam someday :)
