Susan's Story
Hi Everyone,
What a long it has been! So much to tell. I left with Cariol Lewis in 1965 and together we entered the Catherine Booth School of Nursing. I worked in ther Burn Unit at the Montreal Childrens Hospital for one year returning to Sherbooke, Quebec to be near my father who was practicing his medicine at the Sherbrooke Hospital. I nursed and also became an Executive Assistant for many years at ther hospital, married, had two children, divorced in ten years and mioved with my family back to Montreal and started a business in the transportation industry- land, sea, air which lasted for over 35 years which enabled me to travel throughout the world. I was the first entrepreneur woman to become a member and subsequently a quarter century member of the Montreal Traffic and Transportation Club which pioneereda the way for women entering this domain. ntary businesses were established, books written, seminars presented internationally and so on. It has been a wonderful experience iand I have always remained very involved with community events - fundraising in particular and am now the President of the |Royal Canadian Legion in the small village of Ayer's Cliff where I live with my husband David Doust.- Naval Architect.
I have made it a life long project to study on a variety of subjects including becoming a Naval Architect -in 1994 .
I have two beautiful grandchildren, a third on the way in March.
I admit, boarding school was not my favorite time in my life but admittedly, the strictness and dicipline that we developed while there and the friendships made, have remained with me forever. My stay was just two years but someone will remember me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each and every one of you.
