Susan's Story
Life
I grew up and lived in the same house in San Diego for all of my school years. In 1979 I moved to LA, where I started on a career in the culinary field. Married Stacey Sullivan in 1980...the divorce was in 1995. Moved to SF in 1982 to attend Culinary school:worked at Zuni and Campton Place Hotel. Moved back to LA for 7 years and worked in restaurants. Moved up to Sacramento for 2 years, then back to SD in 1994 because my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. Mom passed in 1996 and I moved back to Sacramento. Lived there for 2 years, licking my wounds, and decided to live my dream and move to Sonoma County.

met my husband, Jeff, when I moved to Healdsburg...I was hired as a replacement chef of a cafe he left to open Zin Restaurant in Healdsburg! We have been together for 5 1/2 wonderful years and were married in October 2003. I injured my back 5 years ago and stopped cooking. I have, for the last 3 years, worked as an admissions officer for a study abroad program in Florence, Italy, where I get to go 1-2 times a year.
Jeff and I bought a house on 1/2 acre with vineyards on 2 sides of us. We have 120 tomato plants growing at the house, 15 fruit trees and a wood burning baking oven in the back yard. Life is better than I ever could have hoped for!
