Susan's Story
Class of '65. Graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa 1969. Worked for 3 years for Somerset Co. NJ welfare in the Franklin District Office with Bonnie DeHart , as a social worker. Married Lee Landrith in Oct. 1971, and in June, 1972 we moved West, ending up in Reno, Nevada. After various part time jobs with Grants (remember them?) and a Montessori school, I worked for 20 years for the Washoe County School District as a classroom aide: 4 years in a teen pregnancy program, 14 years in early childhood special education, and 2 years in regular ed classroom. ears in medical records release of information for a local hospital. Have been retired for 3 years. Lee and I have two children: Jenny & Jeremy, both married. Jenny is in Florida with two sons, ages 3 1/2 and 6 months; Jeremy is in Denver with a daughter, 2 3/4 and a newborn son. Our family has been active for the last 24 years in the raising and socializing of Guide Dog puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. I am also involved with therapy dogs and church activities. I also quilt, sew, knit, crochet, garden and we travel with our trailer around the U.S. Looking forward to the 50th class reunion in 2015!
