Susan's Story
Life
I went to Kutztown State University after graduating from MN. I left Kutztown in the Fall of 1972 to marry Bill Gardner(class of 1970)on February 10, 1973, who returned from active duty in Vietnam/Coast Guard. We moved to Two Rivers, Wisconsin and in on June 5, 1974 I delivered our first baby, William Gerken Gardner. We returned to Broomall after Billy's birth and bought our first home on Hillview Road, Broomall. Kristin Epley Gardner was born on August 5, 1979. In 1985 we moved to the Paxon Chase Development off of Paxon Hollow Road. After 17 years of marriage (January of 1990),Bill decided that he didn't want to stay in the marriage and after approximately 3 years of separation, we were offically divorced (life was a blur then). During the last 5 years of our marriage I was working on finishing my teaching degree at West Chester University. I graduated in December of 1991 Summa Cum Laude / 4.11 cum. ell! On October 10, 1994, I married Bob Thaete (MN class of 1968) and we tried to combine families. . . it was extremely tough, but Bob and I survived. The kids are all grown up and seem to be doing very well out in the big world. Second marriages (combining families) can really put a strain on a relationship. . . but Bob and I are doing very well. . . we survived!!! We purchased a little condo at the shore and love to take long walks on the beach in the fall, winter and spring with our golden retriever, Sugar. Life is pleasant! I work for a Pediatric Rehab Program in Havertown as the Administrative Assistant/Office Manager. Bob and I are always getting into home improvement projects. . . our hobby . . . the projects are getting bigger and bigger, though. The condo was our 2001 project. . .and adding an addition to the our Media house is on the agenda for the summer of 2002.
Other than that, we are just hanging out in Marple. . . just can't seem to move away. . . .
