If you don't remember me, I was the crazy red-head valedictorian of class of '63 in Lincoln High School; Zachary Granovetter was salutatorian, but I truly believe he was smarter than I was. High school memories: my favorite teacher was Mr Feith--so sad that he passed away. Loved working on the high school newspaper with Nilda Pabon--I finally found her! Had a wonderful boyfriend in high school, but I married the love of my life in 1974, have 1 son who married his high school sweetheart and is a firefighter in the New Haven FD, received the Ray Downey Award for Courage and Valor in 2016, teaches firefighting all over the US, and is a member of FEMA. He and his wonderful wife have 2 little sons--the most precious little boys on earth!! I worked for 10 years at Pru, where I met my husband, and then, after raising our son, worked for 17 years at ADP. Am now retired and loving it! Doing lots of travel to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, but loving lots of time at home and with family and friends.
Went to Douglass College, finished with a math degree in 1967. Had a great roommate, Mary Ann, for two years...trying to find her. Last time we connected, she was in San Francisco.
My oldest friends are Toni Gallo, who I was so...Expand for more
happy to see again at the 50th reunion, and Miriam Torres (now Engle) who came to the US from Puerto Rico in 3rd grade at PS12. We were put together by our teacher, so I could help her learn English. Some of you may remember her--she didn't graduate from LHS with us because she was put ahead after she started because she was older than us and learned English very quickly and then moved to Dickinson HS. She's my dearest friend, and although she lives in AZ and I'm in NJ, we stay in touch very often. In fact, we visited her in March 2013, 2014, and 2019.
Attended LHS 50th reunion--it was awesome! Wonderful to see everyone again and have connected since then with a few classmates who were unable to attend as well. Great to find out that several actually live close by. Kudos to the organizers who did an amazing job.
PLEASE NOTE: I was in the class of 1963, not 1964 or 1962--there is an erroneous entry in 1964.
My email address: srivera60 at optonline.net--Would love to hear from my classmates.
3/27/2022 Update: I was able to reach Nancy/Nadia Potoczniak a couple of weeks ago, after so many years. We talked for a long time, She sounds great! Hasn’t been in touch with her relatives in Ukraine for many years. We both hope anyone remaining is ok.
