Susan's Story
Life is never dull. Here is a brief synopsis of what I've been doing since 1979:
1979: High school graduation
1979-1981: Attended Augusta College
1982: Transferred to Georgia State University to go to nursing school.
1985: Graduate from nursing school with a BSN: worked in various ICU's in Atlanta
1986: Got married to Drew
1989: went back to school for a master's degree in nursing; Had Melinda on 8/26/89 (now 19 years old and attending the University of Alabama)
1991: had Jared on 10/21/91(now 17);
1993: finished master's degree.
1994: Had Emily on 03/29/94 (now 14 and is ...Expand for more
obsessed with the Jonas Brothers!!); By this time I was teaching at Clayton State University School of Nursing.
1996: went back to Emory to get a post-master's certification as a family nurse practitioner. That only took 9 months since I already had a master's degree
1998: went back to school to get a Ph.D. in Higher Education (had to so I could stay in academia and get promotion and tenure).
2004: graduated with Ph.D.
Currently: Still teaching at the same nursing school and loving it!! I teach primarily graduate courses and some undergraduate courses. LIfe is generally busy.
