Sue's Story

Life My bio - I have two wonderful children, Elizabeth and Adam. Liz completed her graduate studies at GWU in D.C. and is currently working for the USTR-an executive office under the White House. Adam received his doctorate in physical therapy and is the clinical director of a facility in the Presidio-San Francisco. Both my kids are now married to awesome people! My husband, Lannie, whom I met in 1975 and married in 1977, passed away unexpectedly March 18, 2010 (Just one day before our 32nd anniversary-heck of a way to get out of buying me a present!). Seriously, he was the wind in my sail and it took me awhile to get it back, but I made it and here I am! I am now semi-retired..working remotely from Washington DC for my California employer (how great is that!). I am awaiting the arrival of my first grandchild - a boy! Looking forward to spending much time with him, getting more acquainted with this fabulous city, and traveling back and forth to California to visit my son and other family members. The greatest thing that has happened as a result of Cla...Expand for more
ssmates.com is that Loree Crawford and I "found" each other after being separated for 20 years. We even went to the Marywood Alumni Association dinner in 2002. That was really wierd - back in the cafeteria again! Sorry I couldn't make the 40th reunion but was right in the midst of my daughter's wedding preparations! Updated info as of Nov 19, 2024... So much has happened since my last post in 2015!! As mentioned earlier, in 2015 I was anxiously awaiting my 1st grandchild. Since then I have been blessed with a total of 5 grandbabies - 3 boys, 2 girls. I left Washington, DC in 2018. It was a grand experience living there but I wanted to be close to my kids and grandkids, so back to California I traveled. I live part time up at Lake Tahoe where I get to travel to the Bay Area to visit my son and his 3 kids. When not in Tahoe, I am in Carlsbad living in my daughter's mother-in-law unit and having a great time with my 2 grandsons. I did go to our 50th class reunion. It was such fun!! Looking forward to a 60th class reunion!! Sue Smith

Proud to be part of the DC residents marching towards the Capitol today!!
Doing some social distancing at Quail Lake. Nice to know that I can make the hike from my cabin.
Caldor fire in the background. Watching all Cal fire , Placer county, and El Dorado county alerts. Homewood should be safe but still am taking precautions
I drove from Carlsbad to Tahoe today. When I was unpacking my car I found this delicious surprise that my daughter, Liz, had hidden among my luggage and the cat ! She knows me too well! Thank you Lizzie!! And a Happy Mo
