Susan's Story

Life, I should have been chosen as'the girl least likely'. I was the little fat stuttering Jewish girl who felt that I didn't have a chance of a wonderful life. The 'girl least likely' got very blessed and was swept off her feet by a 'Prince Charming'. Not on a white horse but on white Naval attack plane. During my Senior year at A&I I met my husband. He was everyones' Prince Charming and yet he saw me as his princess. At that time he was a young career officer. He retired from the Navy career, he chose another career and another Masters'degree. You'd think that my biography is meant to brag;but wait. Along with all the wonderful things God blessed me with came trials. A brain tumor, two brain surgeries, damage so severe that my taste and smell do not exist. I lost hearing in the left ear and vision in the right eye. rom continuing my career as a behavioral therapist for the developmentally disabled. We have lived in many interesting places including Washington D.C. and even on-base in Cuba on Guantanamo for three years. We managed to rise two fine children and have five grandson. all in California..but they visit..everyone wants to visit. lol We have purchased our retirement home in metropolitan Salt Lake City. I want to leave whoever reads this with the certainty I feel that our Creator manages our lives if we let Him. The blessings and trials we have during our lives are the specific experiences that OUR spirits are meant to endure for our eternal growth. If you have read this far, I would like to leave you with the hope and faith that we are given what we need. Sometime we scoff at the trials we are given. Along with the wonderful things in our lives are the very challenges we need the most. We ask for what we want but we are given what we need. I am blessed to live in a wonderful house on a river in Salt Lake City with a prince of a husband. I live a 'charmed life' my trials are the charms on the bracelet. Find faith that you can hold on to and use your time on earth to grow your spirit. Susan 'Sue Beyer' Klein
