Susan's Story
Life
I went to GWU, Universidad de las Americas, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, and graduated from UCLA. I'm a Tech Writer and have worked as a contractor for almost everyone in Southern California and a few in the Bay Area. My husband is Frank, and we have six children between us. We have a dog, Kabu, who is an Aussie Shepherd mix, and a cat, Catherine. We live in Pukalani on Maui. The youngest, Nella, is with us right now after moving back home from Kailua, Oahu. Her cat, Monster, the nicest kitty in the world. I worked as a Tech Writer on the Kaho`olawe Cleanup project, but I've also worked for the Renaissance (now gone), Ka'anapali Shores, Save Our Seas (an ocean non-profit), and what used to be Pets Discount. We have 12 grandchil...Expand for more
dren. I had cancer in 1996 and again in 2004, and have been on disability up until December 2007, but am trying to go back to consulting or work at anything. I've been doing pro bono work for a couple of non-profits. If you come to Maui for a visit, look us up in the phone book and give us a call. We'd love to meet up with W-L grads. Aloha, Susan
College
I went to GW in Washington, D.C., Universidad de las Americas, now in Puebla, Mexico, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, in Toluca, Mexico, and graduated from UCLA, miraculously only 2.5 credits over the requirement with only one class that didn't transfer (serape weaving at UNAM in Toluca).
Workplace
I've done everything under the sun, but my profession is Technical Writing and Editing.
