Suzanne's Story
When I was living with my parents, I was pretty unaware, stupid. My parents were conservative, Nixon loving people who chalked up the ills of society to the poor and to persons of color. Pretty easy to dump on those less powerful than yourself. I went into the convent at 16; I wanted to be a missionary. That was quite a big mistake bc my mouth got me in big trouble. were managing Burger Kings. So, I switched to Nursing and got my BSN. After college, I worked in various city hospitals in New England where I grew up a lot!! It didn't take me long to find out how poverty effected people on many levels. I earned a tuition + stipend scholarship for my master's degree, but illness forced me to turn it down. Finally went back for my Juris Doctor. Law School helped me to understand politics and social injustice. That is where my focus has been.
