Suzanne's Story
Life
After moving away from Leavenworth, Kansas in 1965, our family settled in Tacoma, Wa. I graduated from Clover Park High School in 1971 and received a Bachelor of Public Affairs from Seattle University in 1975. I married Rod Harmon in 1978. We have 5 children and I am a staty-at-home mom and Rod is an attorney with a practice principally as a lititgator, particularly in real estate problems and architectural copyright. I worked for 3 years for the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle as a fund raiser, before kids, and since then have worked on and off as a free-lance writer. Rod and I visited Leavenworth for the first time in 35 years in Jan. of 2001. I very much enjoyed seeing the old stomping grounds and was disappointed that I had lost touch with my old friends and could not visit with any of you. My mother is still alive, but my dad passed away 7 years ago. My brother Paul is a physicist working for the Naval Research Labs in Virginia where he lives with his wife Mary Kay and 4 kids. My sisters Teresa and Elenor have not married; they live together with my mom in a condo in Shoreline, Wa. Elenor edits the Human Life News for the state-wide pro-life organization, Human Life.--she worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for 20 years then and went back to school for a degree in History and Philosophy. Tess has a B.A in Political Science and a Masters in Public Health Admin. and works for the US gov't in Seattle with the Dep't. of Health and Human Services. Annemarie is married to Ken Muth and edits books from h...Expand for more
er home in Indiana. She also worked as a graphic designer for many years and likewise returned to school, getting a degree in the Classics (Greek & Latin). She is now very involved in the pro-life movement in Indiana and has been doing radio spots on the life issues. Honor has two sons; Richard is in podiatric school in Illinois and is getting married in May. David is a Chef just graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in NY. Honor works in computer networking in Dallas, Tx. Her previous training was as a flight instructor, where she met her ex-husband.
I recently went back to school and am finishing up a certificate program in Museum Studies at the U of WA. Our oldest son is getting a master's degree in Theology from jAve Maria University in Naples, Fl. He married Cate Brumley in May of 2005 in Napa, Ca. Our daughter Becky is also at Ave Maria and majoring in theology. Our 17 year old son is a senior at Bothell High an d is busily applying to colleges--he wants to be a meteorologist. Our next son, Nick is 15 and shares a passion for video games and air soft rifles with his younger brother, Will who is 12.
Now it is spring in 2021 and I am retired from 5 years working in a Catholic bookstore. My husband Rod is still a litigator, but we have also been "flipping " houses. My mom died in 2015, having reached age 99. My siblings are all retired except for Honor who is a network engineer near Chicago. We now have 8 grandkids, 5 in Houston and 3 in Virginia. Still living in Bothell, and doing well despite covid.
