Sybil's Story
Life
I'm now retired, living in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas where my brother, Carl, and sisters, Bobbie Sue and Rita also live.
My two oldest sons are Lt. Cols in the Army, one in Intelligence and one is a Chaplain. The Chaplain is now stationed at Ft. Polk and is only 6 hours from me! It's great having him that close. The Intelligence Officer, now stationed at Ft. Drum, NY with his wife an two of his 3 children (the oldest is in school in Chicago) is preparing to leave for his 5th war zone assignment in Sept. '10! My youngest son owns a large boarding kennel in Hope, Maine where he lives with his wife, daughter and son. I have 10 wonderful grandchildren, 7 boys and 3 girls. I love to travel (it's a good thing since my children now live in Maine, Ft. Polk, LA (with 5 of my grandchildren and his wife) and New York. I have lived in Panama, Brazil and Africa, but mostly in Maryland about half way between Baltimore and Washington DC.
I stay very active in church, enjoy cooking, baking, sewing, playing games with friends and family. I played tennis at least 3 times a week but had to give that up...Expand for more
after a leg and ankle injury.
This part of the country where I'm living is beautiful, especially in the fall and spring. I had never even been through Arkansas till Rita moved here in 1990 but have learned to love the area in this gated community with 15,000 residents, 9 lakes, 9 golf courses and just about every thing you could wish for within easy reach. I built a small 3 bedroom house after moving here alone in April '03 and have loved every minute of being here.
I have fond memories of my days at Pineville High School and cherish the memories of friends I had there. You know as we grow older our memories of the past become sharper and I'm forever being reminded of good days and times spent with so many of you PHS students. Getting in touch with you is a special treat and I'm hoping to see many of you at the next reunion. I hope to see you at the 50th this Oct. I can hardly wait!
PS...
I must correct part of my profile but have not figured out just how to do that. I did attend Baylor University my freshman year '60-'61 but it was not Baylor Medical School...I'm not sure how that got on there!
