Syble's Story

Life I retired from State of ALabama Rehab Services in 1998. I enjoy spending time with grandchildren and great-granddaughters. In November 2005, my home elevator cable broke and I sustained injuries to both legs. My polio (right) leg was broken in 5 places, my left ankle was broken and the heel was crushed. I am very limited in mobility and careful where I go and what I can do outside the home. I continue to use a wheelchair for everything and still able to take care of my personal care,. I do day-t...Expand for more
o-day necessary chores around the house, such as laundry and the basic household chores .. I still need to wear a long-leg brace. for stability. I am still the "Bureau of Information" for family and friends who need to know current addresses, telephone numbers or how to can or cook a certain food. I can still type whenever called upon to do so. I no longer drive. I stay home except for regular doctor checkups to avoid serious illness.. I am still an independent, bossy ole gal who speaks her mind..
