Sydney's Story
I am Sydney Halverson, recently known as Syd. Have lived in SW Minnesota for 45 years and enjoy small town living again. I worked for the local newspaper for 10 years then at the elementary school for 15 years. Really enjoyed that job. Retired in 2000 because Earl and I wanted to do some traveling, which was limited because Earl wasn't feeling well. He passed away at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne in 2018. If you remember my sisters, twins, Janice also passed away in 2018. Sad, bad year.

badly needed in our small towns, I run the local food shelf which is quite rewarding for me. Also deliver meals on wheels, decorate at church plus recently retired from reading to our preschoolers for 20 years. Things have been limited during the pandemic but a few areas are opening again. Have recently been to a couple local concerts and to Chanhassen to see The Music Man. So life in small town can be very full of friends and joy, Drop me a line if you can, would enjoy hearing from classmates. (Sorry I this got so long and wordy)
