Sylvania's Story
Remember me? The dorky little girl, back when nerds weren't cool? Especially girl nerds? I was always the only girl in my class who was interested in computers and video games. I probably dropped enough quarters at the arcade to put the owners' kids through college.
My extracurriculars in school didn't put me in the popular cliques, either: orchestra (and band :P), choir, drama/theatre, drafting... I was in baseball and basketball briefly - but I wasn't much into physical stuff.
As you can tell, I went to a new school every year - sometimes two. Maybe that's why stability is so important to me for my son's education.
My son is my world. Finally, I've something to show for myself! He's brilliant, and in every way better than me, which is the whole point of evolution. Watching him move through school life puts a whole new perspective on what we were like back then. No matter our perceived faults or dorkiness, we were all so adorable when we were young!
I love working at TechSmith, and on Snagit in particular. Snagit 9 was such a fun project - I'm really proud of our whole team and the product's continued success. Even after five years, I look forward to work every single day. :)
I'm really into history, and the (late) Victorian era in particular. Why? Maybe because things were so very different from now, but in many odd ways, so very the same...

m active on the Victorian Days event committee in Grand Ledge. If you ever have a desire to see me in a tight corset and bustle, giving talks on funerary customs or whatever, pop in to Grand Ledge for the first full weekend in May.
To unwind? I read, watch tv & movies, play WoW, enjoy my son, play piano, sew & design clothing/costumes, and think about deep things.
