Tammie's Story
Life
I have four wonderful children and one adorable grandson. I love spending time with my boyfriend flying, putting together and firing public fireworks shows, skiing, traveling, watching him perform with his barbershop chorus, among other things. I often wish Doctor Who were real and would whisk me, or us, away in his TARDIS! I love doing yoga, belly dance, fireworks, and participating in CAP events these days.
Workplace
Well, I have mostly been a single mom and in college off and on between moving. I worked for 11 years as an armed security at a government facility. Most recently I was working as a software tester at Northrop Grumman. I am now looking for work I can do from home. I am tired of going to a work place and being surrounded by people I barely know or like rather than filling my days spending time with people I adore and who inspire me and bring me joy. I have also written a children's book, and other things I am working toward publishing and have created art of mul...Expand for more
tiple forms. I want more time at home to work further on those projects.
College
I began college studying photojournalism but canned that field for now, but have done volunteer work on community and online newspapers. I would prefer to be either an overseas consultant or an investigative journalist. I attended a vocational school and graduated in 2005 as a pharmacy technician but all job openings were too far from home. I have attended several colleges working toward a Liberal Arts & Sciences degree. I am currently looking into returning but at a university to work on a bachelors degree and beyond.
School
High school was not that great until I left home when I was 16. Then things got better. Although, I have always loved learning it just became difficult to focus when there were so many problems at home. I also didn't learn really anything in high school that I did not already know. It was quite boring. I just wanted to move on to college and studying on more challenging subjects.
