Tammy's Story
Life
After high school, I attended WVU (Let's Gooooo Mountaineers!!) and graduated with a degree in education. I married Robbie Johnson (IHS '85) in 1990, moved to Hurricane, WV, and we have two wonderful children: Zach, 14, and Rachel, 10. Oh, and there is also my "baby", Zoe, a precious little Sheltie--what a princess! Zach is a sprinter on the track team and a running back for the football team. He is handsome and smart, and very good at football-but don't tell him I said so... Rachel is my ball of energy. Her dream in life is to be on "Saturday Night Live". I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing...She loves tennis and swimming, and has never met a stranger. She has always been "one of the guys"--very tough and doesn't put up with any crap, yet a natural beauty. I tell Rob that all the boys hanging around now will be trouble in a couple of years!
In 2004 we relocated to Avon Lake, OH, on the shores of Lake Erie. Before the move, I was a 5th/6th grade teacher for Kanawha County Schools. I had a great time teaching, and hope I helped my students...Expand for more
. I certainly learned a lot from them! Now, I am a stay-at-home mom, PTA president, Sunday school teacher, and underpaid social planner/taxi driver for our busy kids. (I love every minute of it!) Hey, wait a minute: I am still doing the same stuff I used to do, only now I don't get paid!?!?
The move to Ohio was hard a first, but now I feel blessed to live in such a great community. The kids go to great schools and are happy--that is what matters most. Plus, Rob was promoted to partner of his accounting firm soon after, so that made things even better! I am tremendously proud of him--he is a great father and my best buddy--my soulmate.
I do miss the mountains of WV--especially in the spring, with the redbuds and dogwoods, and the fall with the blanket of color. We try to attend as many WVU football games as possible. Rob and the kids are OBSESSED with Mountaineer football! We have never rooted for Ohio State, but Coach "Fraud" has created 4 new Buckeyes fans (at least when they play Michigan)!
Well, that is my life in a nutshell!
Peace be with you!
