Tammy's Story
Life
After College, I married in 1996, moved to Stoney Creek Mountain, and started my own business. My partner & I decided to close the business late 1998.
In 2003, after a long drawn out divorce, (not fighting....lawyer and judge B.S. lost papers, etc etc) I was free!!!!!!
I remarried in 2005 in an outdoor wedding where I came down the Grand River on a boat to say our vows on their dock. The year beofre the wedding we moved to a little town called York, situated on the Grand River, to live happily ever after. THe house is over 140 years old, and since we have moved in we have been doing reno after reno. First the siding and windows on the large storage shed and house. Then knocked down the garage and we (yes, I helped) build a 2 story 2 car...Expand for more
garage/workshop. Then we redid the living room and dining room. Now we have put a dormer on the back of the hosue and gone from a 2 bedroom upstairs to a 3 bedroom and a bathroom. Next spring/summer, we are knocking off the back porch, building a new one that is 2 ft farther out from the house, 3 season and have deck off that. No rest for the wicked.
We love being out there. We pull right out of the shed with the snowmobile and the ATV and off we go! Or walk right down to the river to fish/relax. Or go up to the cottage in Dorset to enjoy sledding in the winter and atv-ing and fishing in the summers.
I got started in pottery a few years ago, but since the renos, I have not had time to get my wheel set up or get a kiln. Hopefully soon!!!!
