School
Looking back, I guess I had a pretty good time at Newmarket High and I'm still in touch with several friends and teachers today. I live close by, and it tears my heart out to see that beautiful old building completely gone!! If they'd made condos out of it, I'd probably be living IN the school!
College
Strictly mathematically speaking, yes, it DID take me 6 years to finish university, but I spent one year living in France working as an au pair, a summer working in Germany, and then another year up in Quebec City doing an additional degree. All worth it! University was amazing, and I met my three best friends there, with whom I'm still in touch almost daily! Workplace
Compared to most people I meet, I have a very unorthodox work history! Having caught the travel bug early on, I worked for Air Transat on and off for 4 years throughout university, and later went on to travel around with Club Med - stints included The Bahamas, Cancun, Cuba, Switzerland (with a three-month backpacking trip through Europe afterwards...) and the Turks & Caicos Islands. Learned to do many crazy things like scuba-dive, trapeze & circus arts, and sing & dance on stage! And now for something completely different...got into the corporate world of a U.S. restaurant chain after grad school, found that I hated my job and living in Arizona, and am now back in the GTA, working as a hospitality recruiter.
