Tasha's Story
Well, let's see...I suppose we start My Story 19 years ago. A few of you have seen me around since I left school - Fall of '87. One regret that I do have is not finishing school with y'all. My spirit restless, I got my GED and started college at WSU - Psychology in Spring 1989. Tony McGarvey (Kendrick-Julietta HS - '86) and I had a son (A.J.) on March 8, 1989. Tony raised AJ, I was nowhere near ready for mom-hood. While at WSU, I worked at Burger King with some of you. The first job for a few of us from PHS. Moved to the Sacramento, CA - area in May 1990 & managed a BK in Citrus Heights for a short while. Moved to Torrington, WY (Dad started a seed business there) for a couple weeks. Then to Phoenix, AZ with the nephew of a Carnival Co. - Davis Shows Amusement, in late '90. Get this - I was paid to work at a tolewood factory...wood shop ALL day! I did love living in the desert. Talk about wide open skies! While in Phoenix, I also attended Rio Salado and Gateway Community Colleges - Sociology. Started missing the real trees, grasses, wildflowers and life of the Northwest in '92. Mom & Les Boyd moved me home in May '92. July '92 I started working for Planned Parenthood in Pullman. Married Chad Peterson (Jeremy's older bro) in Dec '93, we lived in Albion. Mom divorced Les & ...Expand for more
bought a house on Johnson Avenue in Pullman, working at WSU. Shortly thereafter she got breast cancer & we moved-in. Divorced Chad and I continued working towards my BS at WSU - Zoology (Pre-Vet) until Fall 1995. Mom's cancer treatments ended & I kept working at WSU Dept of Chemical Engineering until Jan 1996, when I moved & started working for an independent insurance agent in St. Maries, ID. Of course, a relationship brought me here to the south-end of Coeur d'Alene Lake. We've been married since Nov '97 and have three kids, one grandchild - His, Mine & Ours. My stepdaughter is five years older than AJ. She has my grandson, Landon - two years old. Our son, Nicholas Michael (Nick-Nick) was born June 6, 2000, in St. Maries, ID. Since Nick's birth, I have had some medical problems. So, my husband, Mike, and I made the choice - I became a stay-at-home mom when Nick was 3 years old. Whoa! Yes, I was staying home, but happy and plenty busy. The experience of watching our children grow, try new things, hold their hands and dust-off their knees, all of the blessings of just being here are a-parent. The "Mother Hen" in me is still very strong. It just took awhile to get my "running" out of my system. Every morning, I wake Nick with our song - "Here Comes the Sun..."(The Beattles)
