Ted's Story
Life
After graduating from Deering High School in Portland, Me, I went to UMass Amherst for both undergrad and grad school. I like to tell people that UMass was the "best decade of my life."
I got married in October of 2005 to Kendra Shimko. She and I went to Deering High School together, and we reconnected 4 years ago here on classmates.com, while we were putting together our high school reunion. Married life is fantastic and my wedding day was the best day of my life - hands down.

a very tough middle school and though it is a challenge, it is incredibly rewarding because every day presents the opportunity to help kids who desperately need it.
Since leaving UMass Amherst, I've travelled quite a bit. I've been to 35 states and a bunch of other countries including Ireland, Spain, Singapore, Cambodia, Mexico, and Costa Rica. At some point I also found the time to go back to school and get a second Master's Degree. Not bad considering my Jr. High School principal once told me that I was a loser and I wouldn't make it through high school.
