Ted's Story
Hi every one this is my story from birth and up to now. I was born in Colusa CA. on Friday the 13 ,1948. I went to school from K thru 9th grade and moved to Leggett Valley high from10th thru the 12th grade. I work with my dad at the 76 station why'll I was going to school and was a tow truck driver and a mechanic until I went into the service with the Navy and was that grand I got to see a lot of place that I was unable to see unless I had the money to go to these place's. When I finish boot camp I was sent to the USS PICTOR AF-54, it was a refrigeration ship and I was signed to first division and I was trained on no. 1 wench for transporting supply over to ship underway. I then was sent to the USS PROCON AF-61 I had the same job there and it was hard to pull up pallet from the hole to deck topside I was sent home on a hardship discharge under honorable discharges I work there until we moved to Canadian, Texas. d work for him, I did and I was trained on the roller grader and dozer, I then moved to New Mobbettie, Texas, I was always thinking of my days in the NAVY and I decided to go back, and spent thirty Years in the NAVY. I was married to my first wife and spent up to 1995 with her and my daughter, we got a device why'll I in the service, after that I headed back to Texas to be close to my mom and dad in wheeler, Texas I went to work as a cook for the Wheeler care center and then to Canadian and to boot camp as a drill instructor; after my mom and dad past away. MY second wife and I decided to move to Amarillo, Texas and we still live hear. the NAVY had given me 100% disable for my back injury and that was great because for the first time I got all my back pay. I am retired and enjoying my life. I have been married for 16 years and I talked my wife to retire also. We love Amarillo Texas. I do not know if I will ever go back to California, if you ever get out our way look us up and if you make it here in July & Aug. we can take you down to see the story of Texas.
