Theodore's Story
Hi to all-
Now that I'm retired, I have more time (and feelings of nostalgia), so I'm filling in some of my classmate and face book spaces.
After finishing Summit High, I went to Oberlin College but after 2 years volunteered for the
Army and went to Korea. Held jobs such as sorting boots, quartermaster field laundry mechanic, and finally company clerk.
Finished up my final two years at Oberlin (on the then generous GI bill).
Got admitted to University of Rochester Medical School by the skin of my teeth.
After taking out a year for research, graduated in 1962, After internship, took residency training in anesthesiology and finished in 1965. Stayed on in teaching capacity until 1969, then went into private practice.
Worked at various sites in Rochester as an anesthesiologist until retiring in 2007 at age 74.
At the moment I'm in Reedville VA (on the bay) and split my time between here and Rochester, NY.
Have 3 sons - 2 in their early 40's. Richard works as an administrator for the Amer. Fed. of Teachers in Wash. D C. His wife is a lawyer for the Teamsters and ...Expand for more
have produced two lovely grandkids.
David is somewhat of a free spirit and is a free lance cinematographer and cameraman - not attached yet. My youngest son, Hayden, is 18 and is a freshman at the University
of Rochester. He is smart, funny and witty - also very much his own person (I wanted him to go to a school out of town).
I'm now 76 (feel 35 inside) and have more things to do than I have time for. Fishing and raising oysters under my dock. Finishing up a 21 ft.boat I'm building (for the last 5 years) in Rochester - have recently finished a 16 ft. Mill Creek kayak for my daughter-in-law and grandkids, after building two CLC single kayaks.
I'm a frustrated farmer, have a vegetable garden here and am starting an orchard (apples, pears, peaches, apricots, cherries and blue berries) - as a member of the Chestnut Foundation I'm starting some Chestnut saplings. In Rochester I'm trying get some white oaks started from acorns. Down here I hope to work with a free medical clinic and rescue squad here.
Plan to post some more pictures in the near future.
Take care,
Ted
