Ted's Story
Life
Greetings all!
Well, itÂs about time I stop procrastinating and update my profile. Wow, time flies! We graduated like last year, didnÂt we? And now people are saying something crazy about a reunion......
Anyway, about me: After college I moved to Los Angeles where I worked for Boeing. Looking back, it was a great experience. I met some great people with whom IÂve created lasting friendships and I picked up some wonderful bad habits like motorcycling. I got tired of planning my life around traffic though, and I missed everyone in Colorado so I came back but now I really miss the ocean and cruising along the Pacific Coast Highway. I recently got into amateur racing (cuts down slightly on speeding tickets) and scuba diving (did the Keys and now the Great Barrier Reef is next!) Currently IÂm going for my sky diving certification. Sky diving is by far the most exciting thing IÂve ever done and I wanna do a lot of it. I have some crazy ideas about quitting engineering altogether and becoming a professional sky diving instructor. The career is fine but it gets in the way of the really fun stuff. ...Expand for more
Plus I donÂt like waking up before 9:30AM. A friend of mine and I are preparing, both physically and mentally, for a cross-country hike across the great American desert (Los Angeles to Denver). It should make for some fun stories if we pull it off. Hopefully they wonÂt start out: ÂYeah, I USED to have these two friends who.......Â
In 2001 my dad retired to Greece. I was sad to see him leave but now I have an excuse to visit Greece more often. In 1999 I started taking piano lessons which is something IÂve wanted to do since I was a kid. ItÂs arguably the hardest skill IÂve ever tried to acquire as I have no natural musical talent, but I love it. This fall IÂll be starting Japanese language classes in preparation for a Japanese exchange program I might (hopefully) be participating in next year. TheyÂre looking for Americans to live in Japan for six months to teach English to Japanese students. That about wraps up most of the noteworthy things on my end. Life is great and getting better. I look forward to seeing you all in August and catching up on the events of the past decade!
