Theodore's Story
Life
Hi everyone! Well, I spent two years each at Wa Mutual in downtown Seattle and AT&T Wireless in Bothell. I enlisted in the US Army to become a UH-60 Black Hawk Mechanic. I lived in SE Bavaria, Germany, about 20 mi. from the Czech Republic for two and a half years. I spent a year in Afghanistan with a Medevac unit and Im now on a 15 month tour of Iraq with a Cavalry Squadron. I am a Non Commissioned Officer and I currently inspect the work of the mechanics (quality control). I reenlisted in Afghanistan to go to Ft Lewis and after 4 years in Eurasia, Im happy to be back in the great state of Washington! Ladies and gentlemen, Im not the Teddy Aarstad you thought you knew in High School! If youre interested, then come see about me! I'd love to talk to all of you and hear how youre doin... Take care and dont be shy...send me an email!

School
this is gettin funny... some soldiers fight wars... Me? I fill out crap on classmates.com! lol.. Eh, occasionally, I wonder if I would do things differently or be somebody different if I could do high school over again... But ultimately, when i look at the bottom line, I am the man that I am today because of how my school years shaped me. I wouldnt change who I am now for anything!
College
I am taking online courses with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. My degree is for Professional Aeronautics.
Military
I enlisted in the US Army in April of 2001. I attended Basic Training at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri from May until July. In July of 01, I went to Ft Eustis, VA for 4 months to learn the systems and components of UH-60 Black Hawk Tactical Helicopters.
In mid October 01, I recieved orders for my first duty assignment: The 1st United States Cavalry Division at Ft Hood, TX. I was assigned to D co 2nd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment for 9 months. In Sept 02 , I was sen...Expand for more
t to a flight company, A co, to become a crew chief. I was deployed twice on 30 day training missions in the U.S. while with A co. I went to Deming, NM to serve with Joint Task Force:6 assisting the Border Patrol and also to the National Training Center at Ft Irwin, Ca.
In Nov/Dec of 02, I came down on orders to PCS to Germany. I was to leave in April. However, in Jan/Feb of 03, the Cav recieved orders for OIF 1. My first deployment order! However, they we were ultimately told to stand-down. I then moved on to Germany, where I had volunteered to be assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment of the Wurzburg, Germany based 1st Infantry Division. They already had deployment orders in hand... I picked them so I could go do my job as a warfighter.

...and my orders were deleted while I was transiting to Germany because Turkey wasnt cooperating. I was then sent to HHC, 7th Army Training Command Flight Detachment, 7th Army Training Command, Grafenwohr, Germany. The 7th Army Training Command was comprised of two UH-1 Hueys that had been refurbished after the Vietnam War and continued to serve proudly. However, they were not able to fly in inclement weather and in July 03, the 1st Battalion of the 214th Aviation Regiment assumed our role and sent a UH-60 down to Graf for us. I now fly on average, 25-35 hours per month.
In July of 2005, I moved from 3rd Flight to 2nd Flight in Mannheim. I then volunteered to deploy with the 159th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) to Afghanistan. I reenlisted for Ft Lewis while in Kandahar. Three weeks after redeploying I PCS to Ft Lewis and subsequently redeployed, this time to Iraq. I was picked up for SGT in March of 07 and have just recently been given the ok from our Squadron Command Sergeant Major to request a waiver for SSG.
