nt #20040228725 A1 was issued to Skip on Nov 18, 2004 for Centrifugal Fan Orifice Flow Control, Skip retired Sep 30, 2003 after working as a Fan Engineer Since 1956. He started out working for Loren Cook Co. Then moved to Western Engineering & mfg Co, and ended up at AiResearch . AiResearch became AlliedSignal and then became Honeywell while Skip worked there. Skip designed, built, and qualified the first vacuum blower used on the Boeing 737, 747, 757,767,777, 787 aircraft waste systems. Over 50 years later, They are still used today. Every time you use the restroom and flush the toilet, your are turning on the blower for 30 seconds. That's when "the poop hits the fan". Smile!! Skip also designed and qualified the 757/767 cabin pressue outfloe valve. Then it was a fan for the nitrogen gas system. This system replaces the air in a fuel tank with nitrogen. This reduces the risk of fire. Another fun project was designing and building a fan for space station carbon dioxide removal system..
