Teri's Story
Life
I was married at 20, had two sons, and divorced at 28...not the way I thought my life would go but it was the best for everyone, still friends with my Xhusband. I remarried a wonderful man, Don and was so happy for 12 years until he passed away suddenly. Being a widow at 40 years old was so strange, dating all over again....ugly! I have learned a lot! Last year I met Tommy through my 24 year old son *L*...he is everything I've ever wanted in a partner..kind, loving, sensative, makes me laugh, and he is so handsome...I haven't been this happy in such a long time and it's a great feeling. Tommy and I were married on October 15, 2007. I am fortunate that I have a loving family, good friends, and a wonderful job.
School
I shouldn't say this but...I really hated school! My brother was a year ahead of me and my first two years I was known as Davis' little sister..which wasn't bad as most of his friends were on the football team and were really good looking...as a cubby brunette the attention was welcome. My best friends in high school were Linda Frank, Cathy Sanchez, Shari Cantos, Julie Bonelli, Jean Buzzeli, and Rhonda Patton...Going over the names listed on this site I do remember so many people.
I had a few teachers I really liked...Sharon Daly, and Sharon Daily...The only classes I liked were Film Lit. and Senior English. I HATED (and still do) Math...If I had it to do all over again (if I knew then, what I know now) I wou...Expand for more
ld have paid more attention, received better grades, and gone on to college. That's whats so interesting raising my own sons...I suddenly became my parents *L*.
Workplace
I had my first job at the age of 16 as a senior in high School. It is a Recreational Vehicle organization where I did customer service and moved up to become secretary to two Vice Presidents. I stayed with that company until I was 30 years old. I married, had both my sons and divorced while working at TL. I couldn't go any further with the company and my life had changed so much that I chose to leave.....my second job was after my sons and I moved to Vista in San Diego county. Body Wise is a vitamin/nutrition company. I started in the order entry department then to customer service. I met some really great people while working there for 9 years. I was laid off the summer of 99 around the same time my husband Don became ill.
My current job is the best . CTA is the union for teachers in California. Our headquarters is in Burlingame (San Francisco) and I work in a Regional office in Norco. (Corona..Riverside county) I believe in what CTA represents, how we fight for teachers rights etc. Employees of CTA are the best I've ever met. I have made really good life long friends here. Everyday is a learning experience. Working here makes me realize what a difficult job teachers really have and how dedicated teachers make the difference in the world we live in.
