Lynn's Story
Life
Hi. I didn't actually graduate from Sylvan Hills High in 1978. I went to Capitol View Elementary and then to Sylvan and transferred from there to Ceder Grove High in Ellenwood in the middle of 10th grade. I went into the Army when I was 21 and have been in the Army ever since that time. I have 27 total years in the Army (21 Active and 6 Reserve). I am currently stationed at Ft. Belvoir Virginia. I have had assignments at Ft. Belvoir, VA (my first as a private), Neu Ulm Germany, Ft. Lee Virginia, Dublin California (just outside of San Francisco), New Hampshire and now I am back at Ft. Belvoir, VA. I am currently a Master Sergeant. My occupational specialty in the Army is Computer/Network Systems Administration. I currently live in Alexandria Virginia. I am in my retirement years and plan to retire in about 5 years from the military. I will then return to my home state of Georgia. My entire family still lives there with the exception of my little sister, Lisa, who lives in Sacramento California. I was married for 10 years, but I am divorced now. I have been divorced for about 14 years and I never remarried. I graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1997 with a B.S. Degree in Occupational Therapy. ...Expand for more
I hope to work on/finish my Masters before I retire from the military. I visit my family in Georgia at least 3 to 4 times a year.
Workplace

Military
Military Service (U.S. Army) from 1982 - current. Currently stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Lived in Germany for 3 and 1/2 years. I was in Neu-Ulm which is in Bavaria, southern Germany. I loved it there. Germany is really a beautiful country. This assignment gave me the opportunity to travel to most of the European countries. I was there during a historic time, when communism fell and was able to travel to Eastern Germany and Chechoslavakia right after restrictions were lifted on the borders.....so that was really interesting. They still had border guards on the crossings. I chipped off a piece of the wall. I skied in the Alps and traveled to Venice Italy. Germany was definately my most memorable assignment. I was also stationed near San Francisco. That was neat. I lived there for 4 years. Then i lived in beautiful New Hampshire for 3 years. Living in snow country was definately different, but that is why i went there....i had to find out how those people live in all that snow....lol.
