Workplace BIOGRAPHY TERREL M. EMMONS, FAIA, F.SAME 6830 Bluecurl Circle Sp[ringfield, VA 22152 In 2011, Terrel M. Emmons, FAIA, FSAME, retired after a 40 year career with the Federal Government as an Architect and Planner. He continues to provide consulting services to national and international agencies and companies in wide-ranging facilities-related areas. His last position before retiring was as Director for Planning and Development in the Office of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC). In this capacity, and working closely with Senators, Congressmen, and their staffs, he had responsibility for long range planning, facilities asset management, facilities planning, and the annual development of facilities-related budget for the Capitol, House & Senate Office Buildings, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, US Botanic Garden, and other facilities on Capitol Hill and in the surrounding region. He additionally was responsible for all planning and design coordination with other agencies within the national Capital Region. Prior to coming to the AOC, Mr. Emmons held numerous leadership positions including Senior Executive Service (SES) positions as Special Assistant to the Director, Bureau of Land Management, and Associate Director for Professional Services with the National Park Service. In the latter position, he had responsibility for managing and directing all planning, design, construction, real estate operations, and facilities-related environmental programs throughout the National Park Service nationwide.
