Family: Married with three children - oldest now married, a practicing dentist, and the mother of two. Both sons have completed college and our younger son recently received his MSW degree from U of M. Current occupation: Attorney with a general practice. I have enjoyed working with plaintiffs in personal injury actions, and became certified as a brain injury specialist. My main offices are in Oakland County, and I have a satellite office in Livingston County, but do go to courts in surrounding counties as well. That view of life was further nurtured at Wilson Elementary by my two favorite teachers, Mrs. Meade and Mr. Stewart. Can remember Mr. Stewart pointing to South America and to Africa on a large world map, showing how they appeared to fit together like puzzle pieces, and saying that there was a then controversial theory that the continents once were joined together, and later very slowly separated over time. Somehow that was a concept which opened a door or two in my mind. Frost Jr. High was a lot more institutional than I had been used to, but was a great opportunity to get to know many others with similar and differing interests. Favorite teacher was Miss Schmidt, who had taught English when my parents attended Jackson High in the early '40s, and who still shared a love for her subject. At Parkside High I tended to stay under the radar most of the time, sticking with the books and, in my senior year, working afternoons at Consumers Power in its Systems Planning Division. Fairly regularly make use the company computer, which was housed in its own separate computer building. The only way we could run an operation was to send our entries, line by line, to the key punch department which would then punch each character onto data cards for running through the computer's card reader! My favorite high school teachers were Mrs. Barber, for math, and Mrs. Nichols, for English.
