Terri's Story
Life
I am happily married to a retired Naval torpedo man and we now own our own trucking company. We drove team for several years and then we bought another truck. When we did that, we both went solo with a dog in each one. After too many years on the road, I sold my truck and went back to teaming with him on occassion. We have a steady shipper that will keep us busy for the next 5 years and at that time, Jim will retire for the second time. He'll only be 55, so that is great. We will be debt free then, so I say, come home and work the garden.
We have 6 children, 4 grandchildren with another on the way. Update on our new grandson, Kevin. He was born June 29th 2007, and boy is he handsome. We have our 10 (was 5 at the last update) four legged babies who keep us very entertained. Each of them came from the Animal Shelter, where I am a volunteer, at various times. Some came from the shelter down south in Ft. Myers. 6 dogs and 4 cats, what a handful. Our last adopted dog is a pit puppy and she thinks she is a cat. She loves playing with al...Expand for more
l the dogs, but really loves playing with the cats, who could care less that she is around. lol
We lived in Ft Myers, FL; but moved up to O'Brien, FL 2 years ago where we have 8 heavily wooded acres in the country. And boy do I mean country....No DSL, only satelite for my computer, and all the dirt roads anyone would want to have if you have 4-wheelers to tear the roads up with. We just bought dirt bikes (bicycles) so we can get out and about in the neighborhood for exercise.
I belong to several clubs and am Fundraising Chairperson for one of them. I was also appointed by the Commissioneers in Suwannee County to be on the dreaded Code board, but up here we really try to work with the people and not make them come to our court.
We are blessed with many good friends and a beautiful home nestled behind the coverage of many large oak trees. My husband Jim loves his John Deere tractor, and he and my son put up our fence around the 8 acres. Boy was that a job....My life has turned out to be as perfect as one can be, and it is only getting better.
