I was pleasantly surprised to find this site. I took a nostalgic ride through the old neighborhood in January of this year, 2013, and was amazed at the changes. St Francis school is no longer called St Francis but there was a charter school name across the front of the school. And I don't know how many know that in 1991 the Church was renamed Resurrection... to accommodate the combining of St Veronica and St Francis. Our old playground is still there but looks like it is used for a parking lot. I currently live in Schaumburg, Illinois. After graduating St. Francis Xavier Elementary School, I attended Notre Dame High School for girls (along with Linda Kamick (Kusch)! on Mango Ave in Chicago. I then graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I met my husband through a classmate while at Northeastern and we married in 1971 and moved to Schaumburg in 1972. I taught 1st grade in Chicago for a few years and then as a substitute teacher in the suburban area in and around us. We started our family with our son, Matt, arriving in 1975.
