Terri's Story
Okay folks here is the past 30 years in fast forward since graduation. After graduation I worked in a number of part time jobs never really settling on a career. In 1990 due to health reasons I had to change jobs so went to a adult eduction center to brush up on some skills and found a clown class. I became a joey, the circus word for clown, and now I really am the class clown! I belong to Kanawha Klowns, the local clown alley. I went to West Virginia State College to become a teacher. e of my life which is working with people with dementia. During this time I was also going to Spencer, WV to help care for my cousin with muscular dystrophy. People say their job is rewarding but mine a blessing. I get a chance to make a difference in someones life each day. After graduation I worked in several nursing homes in West Virgina and North Carolina. I have also worked in a local assisted living facility. I quit work in 2005 to care for my mom for one year. She is doing well and I went back to work in 2007. I now work at a adult day care here in Kanawha County.
