Terri's Story

Life Workaholic. That's me in a nutshell. Trying to find the right balance between work, money, family, and sanity. I love to work. I have Rob Terhune to thank for that. I had such a big crush on him. Which girl didn't? Come on, he was gorgeous, rich, and shoulders bigger than a Greek God. School was offering a cosmetology program. My boyfriend (sorry Brian), along with my friends and family were all encouraging me to take the program. It wasn't until Rob turned around in Spanish and said, "That's something you would be good at" that I enrolled that very day. So there it is! See how nearly twenty years can change you. rs. Workplace Yikes! Can I be this old? Time for another round of botox! In September I will have been a hairstylist for 17 years. I used to lie and tell my clients I had been cutting hair for a few years more. Now I lie the other way and say less. It's a great career and I love it. I have been working in Poulsbo for 12 years now. I am well established here. It's a charming, welcoming community. Very neighborly. I couldn't have asked for a better chance at starting my own business. I opened a salon in '98. In '05 we expanded into a spectacular new location and business has been fabulous ever since. In my teens, I wanted a salon that offered it all. Hair, spa, skin. Now we have it but it has taken a lot of hard work. Management is still the hardest element for me. I would just like to cut and color hair because it's what I do best. In reality, it's my job to develop careers. That's the tricky part.
