Terrill's Story
I did not graduate from Lathrop. My family moved to Anchorage the summer of 1974 and I attended six high schools there before graduating early (1976). In Fairbanks I had been in class with people who were graduating in 1977. I did live in the Fairbanks area for many years and went to Denali Elementary, Hunter Elementary, Main and Ryan Jr. High schools. I'm interested in catching up with friends from those years and I know most of you DID continue at Lathrop.
I usually drive up to Fairbanks a couple of times each summer and go to the Midnight Sun baseball game and Chena Hot Springs. I would love to meet up with friends and/or their families. I don't camp or other outdoor activities as much as I would like, because my husband is already retired and living in Washington on our retirement property, so I'm mostly on my own up here.
I married young, had five daughters while taking college classes, got divorced and finished a BS in computer science and math in 1987. I remarried about 10 years ago, then went back to school when my youngest was a junior in high school to get my Masters in Audiology and I have my own small clinic (Glacier Audiology Hearing Clinic) in Wasilla. I'm building a house (cash out of pocket) by myself, and have a brand new 4-wheeler I don't know how to drive.
I love to dowhill ski, ice-skate, driving and camping, fishing. I paint...Expand for more
- my watercolors of people are my best work - . I read a lot, and watch movies, but not much TV. I build things and can fix /remodel almost anything.
I was a single parent for many years and my daughters grew up with very little in the way of material things, but have really excelled at life, especially considering our limited resources. My oldest is an architect and just completed a $130 million hospital in Magnolia Arkansas, the next is a doctor beginning her residency in emergency medicine this summer, the next is in medical school at UW in Seattle, the next is in the RN program at UW, and the youngest is staying at home with her two young sons (married to a former marine who was injured -lost all hearing in one ear- in Iraq). All of my children have children, so I have eleven granchildren from babies to 16 year-olds.
I don't know what else to say...
I remember a lot of people from the years in Fairbanks, and can't think of anyone who I didn't consider a friend. Some names are Nancy Mease, Brady Pigg, Mike Gray, Craig Baldwin, Dorothy, Becky, Anna Lee Clark, Rebecca (saw her in Anchorage about 15 years ago at UAA), Mark Gilbert, Judy, John, Bo Workman, Guy Hillyer, Mitch Thibedeau, Rene', Gordon, Andre', Zena and Zale Gavin, the Gold Nugget marching band, and many more. Even if you don't see your name in this short list, I'd like to hear from you.
