Terry's Story
I can't believe I'm going to say this...fifty-plus years have passed since my first day of school at Midway Elementary School in Sedalia, OH.
From '55 until '64, my family lived in Sedalia (Madison County). During that time I attend grades 1-4 at Midway, 5&6; South Solon, 7&8; Madison Rural, and through the spring of '65, my first year of high school, at Madison South.
The next segment of 9th grade was spent at Plains High, near Mt. Sterling, OH. We moved again and I attended the 3rd segment of 9th grade at Johnson Park Jr. High in Columbus, OH. (9th grade was considered Jr. High at Johnson Park.)
In the Spring of '66 my parents visited relatives in Newark, DE and loved the region enough to relocate there. We lived in Todd Estates near Brookside where I completed 9th grade at Christiana Jr. High and I complted 10th & 11th grades at Christiana High.
My senior year was spent at Seaford High School in Seaford, DE. In December of that year I learned...Expand for more
from my guidance counciler that I hadn't earned enough credits to graduate with the class of '68 (4 different schools for 9th grade was the problem). I turned 18 that December and decided to drop out. My mother immediately enrolled me at Delmarva Beauty Academy in Salisbury, MD where I earned a diploma in Cosmetology. In 1972, I returned to school and earned my GED.
In September '68, I married Jimmy Phillips of Bridgeville, DE. We raised two beautiful daughters, Kelli and Bridgit. We divorced in '86 but have remained friends and see one another frequently at family events. Jim remarried, I've remained single. We have 3 grandchildren; two girls and a boy and am now a great grandmother of a boy. So blessed!
I currently reside in Maryland and am employed by the state for the Department of Social Services in Denton.
There are many good memories of the places I've lived and the people I've met. I welcome correspondence from anyone wishing to contact me.
