Terry's Story
I dIdn't like being an unemployed carpenter after HS so off I went to college! I had no idea what I was doing but a bachelors and masters degree led to a teaching job at a junior college. Quit after 10 years to pursue doctorate in plant molecular genetics at the University of Iowa. I conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Missouri, then returned to the state, working as a professor, department chair, and associate dean at Oklahoma City University from 1996 to 2012. r from 2012 to 2021 . I am now retired from higher education but I started a new position with the Oklahoma State Department of Health in January 2022.. I have two grown sons from my first marriage, one living in Monroe, Louisiana and the other in Norman, OK. I met a beautiful, kind, loving woman (Julie) and am married and in love. We bought a house last year in Enid in a quiet neighborhood with great trees. What a long, strange trip it has been for this son of a mechanic and service station owner (remember "Johnny's 66" on Van Buren?) I can be found on Facebook.
