Terry's Story

Who am I? Still don't know ~ I'll let you know when/if I grow up!!! One marriage, one divorce. No children. BS AND MBA. Quiet, peaceful life. *The comments below are from the "Story Wizard.* I always wanted to be a nun when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a stupid idea. As it turns out, they were right (I'm not Catholic). To relax ~ Sit by the lake or in a boat in the lake. I will never tell the wildest thing(s) I did in school ;) ~ fortunately/unfortunately, there weren't many... If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have slept the night before, Dr. Pepper, and efficient people around me to be able to deal with the day-to-day. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? Nothing ~ yesterday ended last night ... regrets are a waste of today's happiness. To be truly happy ~ I'd be as close to my family as I am to my friends. The entire world would know God and the world would be at peace. Two of my most rewarding experiences are the years I volunteered for The Literacy Council & the years I volunteered for Elder Care. I don't believe in heros; however, there's been many special and influencial people in my life: Phyllis ~ the most special person I've ever known, RIP. Phyllis never met a stranger, she had a heart of gold ~ she taught me the importance of having Christian friends. A few guys that took me to a small country church when I was a teen ~ I learned my life would never be complete without God. My grandmother (Lois) ... she died when I was 2 1/2. I still remember her ~ she taught me about love. Where have I lived?...Expand for more
Tooo many places. My biggest surprise in life is that I didn't marry the man of my dreams and have 10 kids. *Of course, I still could marry the man of my dreams ;) My dream home would be a small cabin on the lake ~ out in the middle of no where! If I won $100 million??? I've learned that money is soooo NOT important in life. Of couse, I have tons of nephews and nieces that I'd be tempted to spoil. My current age is 50. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient. I was so completely WRONG. My best friend would tell you I'm private, kind, loving and special, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof ~ not true ... I dress anyway I want. Jeans, T's, pajamas, evening gowns, whatever the mood and event ~ I dress to please me. Leather, lace or tailored suit. I share my home with me and God, which I find peaceful. Oldest friend meaning first friend ~ Cindy. She lived down the street from me, I always thought she had a "Leave it to Beaver" type family, the kind of family I always wanted. I loved and adored her mother. We clicked because we liked to do the same things kids do. My first job was at Torey's (restaurant), where I got paid $1.35 an hour to hostess. What I remember most about it was those big TIPS! & the very special friends I made during that three years of high school. I don't share childhood memories. How do I hope old friends remember me? Anyway they want ... The only things I haven't done that I wish I could do: Join the Peace Corp & serve as a missionary in a third world country.
