Terry's Story
Hope everyone is doing great and adjusting to the Coronavirus going around I am doing ok but my wife keeps having to lecture me about wanting to go somewhere actually anywhere I hate being in the house. My best escape is taking our Golden Retriever for walks a couple of times a day plus I sneak out and walk my neighbors English Golden Retriever for a walk she is handicap and cannot walk him herself, when I get home my wife reads me the riot act but since I am guilty what can I say. Hope every is keeping busy, keeping in touch with friends and relatives via the internet or phone. Everyone pleas take care and be safe.
Life
I am technically retired from McGraw-Hill (after 28 years) all of it in the Information Technical area as a computer programmer, Data Base Administrator, IT development manager. In July of 2005 most of the McGraw Hill Education division IT development jobs went off shore to India mine included, at the end of my severance I took early retirement to pick up benefits.
Not sure how many people will remember Joe Brown one of our class mates, Joe and I grew up together 3 houses apart and when you found one of us you had us both. When Joe died in 2008 I could not speak at his funeral I could not speak about him in the past tense, I think of Joe often and wanted people to remember him as well we had many great times together, he always kept me abreast of what some of our cla...Expand for more
ss mates were doing and I miss him to this day.
Thinking of Joe Brown today it has been 13 years since he passed and I still miss him today, please keep Joe in your mind and in your prayers hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
I am now working for Anchor Hocking Glass Co. in Lancaster as an IT Business Analyst and have been for over 4 years, not a bad drive and keeps me out of trouble. The people I work with at Anchor Hocking are hard working and fun to be around but I am still looking forward to retirement some time in the future. The thought of retirement is a little scary to me, not sure what I will do with all the spare time.
New update
Well a recent change in the IT management at Anchor encouraged me to turn in my notice, not sure I am going to retire just yet but I am thinking about it. I may consider doing some contacting work to keep me busy will wait and see what the future holds for me.
Military
February 1968 I found myself at Fort Jackson South Carolina in the Army, after basic I went to Fort Eustis Virginia. I thought I was going to learn how to work on Jet turbine engines but I found out that was only part of the plan the Army had for me, they also wanted me to learn how to work on the UH1 Helicopters commonly know as Huey's.
Not sure how I did it but if anyone gets an email from me it was by mistake, I was trying to keep a notification for an appointment, sorry.
