Terry/Sarah's Story
Life
I live in the beautiful area of Vancouver, B.C.; The Lower Mainland; specifically, Maple Ridge. You can have such an enjoyable time here...within a 100 mile radius, you can go from suntaning on the best of beaches to skiing or hiking some of the most awesome mountains. Anyway on to my "bio". After graduating in Regina in '87,I moved with a friend to Winnipeg, we then moved to Burnaby in '92. I went to Israel twice. The first time was part of a study course...and I got engaged to be married on the Mt. of Olives. That was way back in '84. (That ended at Christmas time). My second trip was in '93 with my dear friend from College and Seminary,Kay.
I began studies in Real Estate in the same year. I graduated in '94 and have been in the R/E industry as a Realtor and then as an Investor/Manager up to the present.
I took a sabbatical for personal/spiritual reasons in'97-'98 and went to Nanchang, China to teach English. It was one of the most fulfilling, and rewarding times of my life. I taught K-12. We sure studied, but I remember all the fun and laughter we shared...Wonderful memories.
Now on a more helpful note: "Are any of you out there insomniacs?" I'm a night owl. Reading helps one get some shut eye...but have you tried the herb "Melatonin"? It really works.
The only good thing about insomnia is you get a lot accomplished.
Now on a more important issue...if your looking for the "meaning of life", and know you have sinned (who hasn't)watch the "Passion of the Christ". Jesus Christ must be who he said he was: "I AM"; Isn't that why He was crucified? Was he Lord or Liar? For me He is a forgiving-our-sin-Saviour. He forgave mine. Trust him with your life and heart. He'll give you the meaning for your life. He did mine. Read the book of John in the New Testament, then read Isaiah chapter 61 and Isaiah chapter 53. You will find Jesus foretold. He fulfilled God the Father's will. Then read the intense book of Hebrews, if your up for a real challenge. Hope to hear what you think...all my best, Terry/Sarah. Oh yes one more thing. School
I believe that growing up in a small town like Whitehorse left quite an imprint on me. I met my first love, Kerry in '76, even though I had known of him since grade 5. And we were together till my Dad's death in '79.(I was 18 and in the 12th grade at the time.) I think often about those days; my childhood, family, friends and yes, I have loved them all. It's bitter/sweet. I dream often about life in that small town. My Mom and sister Julie and I moved to British Columbia '80-'81. But I'm a true Yukoner. I was born in Mayo, and grew up in Whitehorse, but no matter where I live, Whitehorse will always be the home of my heart.
College
I went to Langara '81-'82 to study Religion,Psyhcology. To Canadian Bible College to study Theology,Education. To Canadian Theological Seminary to study Spiritual Growth and Hebrew. My most favrorite memories were of friendship with students and professores alike. I really enjoyed my time as R.A.; two yrs in a row; and the opportunity to serve the community and school as Editor of the school newspaper, as well as on the Student Council. I loved my time in school...great memories.
Workplace
Ever since I was in high school, I was always interested in three things: Art, Flying and something in the Real Estate Industry. But when my Dad died in '79. His death refocused my life and led me on a Spiritual quest. So this is now my fourth priority. (Actually I guess it is now my 1st.) I still love the work that I do in R/E; and I would love to have my own jet, and of course have a shed to do all the various art works I want to do. (It sounds like too much, but this is a work in progress for me.) But for now, it's Real Estate; and simply living my life as best as I can, like my Saviour Jesus Christ.(P.S. the movie "The Passion of the Christ" really deeply affected me. Ask yourself: "Why would anyone allow that to happen to them if they were not who they said they were?" Jesus said it...:"I AM". That's why they (each of us) killed him...think on it). E-mail me.
