Terry's Story

Life Where to begin. Has it been almost twenty-five years since high school? After high school I joined the navy. Spent a year in Florida and three years in California, where I saw some of the world. Met a wonderful lady Barbara and was married in 1986. We came back to Cayce where she went to USC's School of Law and I started Midlands Tech. I had also joined the naval reaserves. After receiving my AS I transfered to USC and received a BS in Biology and Psychology. After working for a couple of environmental companies I secured a chemist position with the SCDA as the petroleum laboratory supervisor. I then went back to USC to pursue a MSPH in environmental quality. Barbara and I had our first child Myles in July 1997 and two months later I was diagnosed with NHL. The naval reserves tried to find me medically unqualified and discharge me. After my chemo treatments and remission I decided to join the SCARNG. In October 1999 we had our second child Trenton. After returning from three weeks of military training in California...Expand for more
, Barbara informed me we were pregnant with our third child Sterlyn, who was born in February 2001. In January of 2004 I was mobilized for deployment to Iraq. I am hoping to return stateside in the spring of 2005. Fortunately I will have over twenty years of service and plan on retiring and catching up on time missed with the family. We also hope to build a house as we defintely need the space. Hope all is well with all who reads this and maybe I can catch up with some old friends. Well I made it home and will enjoy spending this Christmas with my family. I have started back with my job as a petroleum chemist and decided to stay in the guard where chances are I won't have to return to Iraq. Well here is the latest update. Decided to buy a larger house rather than build for the moment as I have been mobilized to go to Afghanistan. I am now in Afghanistan. Things are not so bad. Living conditions were better in Iraq, but there were alot more morters and rockets. Wanted to say thanks for those who have visited my profile.
