Thomas's Story
Life
Changed my surname to maternal last name after high school graduation: Thomas Michael Ballentine. Attended O.S.U.; had a blast there, but I wasn't really ready to buckle down & study.
So, I moved to D.C., attended Catholic University of America and became much more of a "real" student. While in school and continuing afterwards, I was a professional opera singer w/The Washington Opera and worked w/an environmental/economic policy non-profit org., designing web pages (World Resources Institute).
I moved to Chicago 5/'01, after spending the last 14 yrs. in Washington, DC and now work as Director of Marketing with Theatre Building Chicag...Expand for more
o. It's an interesting convergence of my management experience, combined w/my years in opera and theatre. I continue to sing professionally while concurrently working w/TBC (see above).
Family: I'm Uncle Tommy to several nieces & (so far) one nephew combined from mine and my husband's families. We're on our way to becoming parents ourselves, hopefully w/in the next year!
I try to visit Shaker Heights often & would love to get together w/my old friends!! I'd certainly welcome hearing from alumni of class '83 Shaker or Laurel.
