Thomas's Story
Life
After graduation, I worked in the sheetmetal trade for 2 years while Cheryl (Myers) and I started our family. We bought a house in Kentwood(bought it before graduation) where we would live for 9 years. The sheet metal business I worked for went bankrupt and while between jobs I joined the army reserves and served my country for six years. Joined a company in 1980 that was a small fabrication shop and stayed until 1986. During this time our family was complete. Cheryl and I have four children(Jeremy-born 1978, Zachary-born 1980, Hillary-born 1981 and Joel-born 1984)and have enjoyed watching them grow up into responsible adults. In 86 I took a job in Muskegon and moved the family there in 87. The kids attended Mona Shores Schools and I spent my time away from them working as a plant supervisor for a stamping company in Muskegon Heights. ville Schools (Joel our baby graduated this past year). Our two oldest boys are now married and Cheryl and I are grandparents and loving it. In our spare time Cheryl and I like to travel and we have been to Hawaii twice. We will have been married 25 years this coming January. Cheryl and I have also been youth leaders, Sunday school teachers and choir members at churches we have been associated with. We are currently members at Wesley Park United Methodist church in Wyoming.
Oh and our two grandchildren are named; Ethan Thomas and Emmerson Rose. Ethan just turned 2 this December and Emmy is 10months.
Cheryl and I are going on an eight day cruise in January of 2003 to celebrate our 25 years together.
Jeremy is in the airforce and he and his family are stationed in Georgia. Zac is a fireman in Walker and he and his family live near by. Hillary lives with us while she attends GRCC part time. Joel is currently working in Cleveland, Ohio.
