Thomas's Story
Life
Currently live in Clarkdale, AZ with my 2nd wife, Sandy. My first wife was Christine Schlierf who attended Williamsville North. We were married for 20 years, had 2 children (Scott and Heather) who are now grown, and on their own. Heather has given me a granddaughter, (Ellia Devi)who is grandpa's little sweetheart.
Attended Williamsville Central High School from Sep. '65 through June '68. I never liked school. I was pretty much a loner. After graduation, I started school at ECTI but then got drafted.
Joined the Army so I could get a job other than infantry. Went to Viet Nam Sep 1970,(146th Avn Co. RR crewchief on RU-21D). Came home and got married August 1971, went back to Viet Nam and got out of Viet Nam at the end of March '72. Was separated from the Army April 1, 1972.
Worked for Dictaphone Corp. for a couple of years in Buffalo, then Utica, NY. Then went back into the Army in 1975 thinking to make it a career.
Lived in Germany for a couple of years and got back out of the Army in 1979 as things weren't so good at the time. I left Germany 2 days before the Iranians took over our embassy in Tehran, and took all those people hostage.
Worked again for Dictaphone in Rochester, Jamestown, Bingh...Expand for more
amton, Buffalo, and Rochester again before being injured in an accident, which put an end to my abilities to work as a field service engineer. Somewhere in there Christine and I got divorced.
I remarried a couple of years later to Sandy (Hedges maiden name), who spent her life in the south towns. (Orchard Park, Hamburg) Together, we built a house in East Aurora.
I worked as a computer support analyst at Tops Markets until they decided to down-size.
Moved to Las Vegas in July 2001 for the climate, as my back was not doing well in WNY. Spent 3 years there while Sandy continued working as a teacher, then decided to move close to Sedona, AZ where we always wanted to retire to. (20 miles from where we live now.)
My Daughter Heather lives in Clarkdale, AZ, and works in Sedona, AZ. She has given birth to my granddaughter, Ellia Devi Burdick, who is the "apple of granpa's eye".
My son Scott is in the Navy and is currently serving on the USS Mustin, which is stationed in Japan for four years. He seems to be enjoying that experience, and has taken a Japanese bride, Mayumi.
There is much more to write about, but I have posted a lot of stuff on my time line, as it seems more convenient to do so there.
