Thomas's Story
Life
Graduated High School and worked at Riser Gulf for a few years.
One night after many beers, I decided to join the Air Force. I made that leap to leave Farmerville to see what else was out there (and to stay out of trouble).
Went through basic training in San Antonio, Tx. Went to Illinois for technical training as a Survival Equipment Technician. Moved to Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska and stayed there for about 2 1/2 years. Moved overseas to England where I stayed for three years. Deployed to many, many locations to include Germany, Italy, Turkey, Spain, France , Belguim and Holland . Took a vacation to the Greek island of Crete. Spent two weeks with my buddies exploring the island and partying with the ladies. :)
I also took a week long road trip throughout England, Scottland and Wales. What a trip. That's all I have to say about that.
Moved to South Korea. I should have stayed in Europe because of the beer. LOL. I enjoyed the 1 year stay there. I went on numerous hiking trips. The mountains there area beautiful and the people are nice when you get away from the military installations.
Moved to Valdoasta, Georgia and spent alot of time in the woods of Northern Georgia and North/East Florida. I finally transfered back to my primary job only to be sent to Saudi Arabia for...Expand for more
four months and then to Kuwait on the next deployment. Kuwait City is nice ; they have a Chilli's on the water. If you took the terrorist out, it wouldn't be such a bad place to hang. It's not too much fun looking around watching for people trying to shoot you. Oh yeah, they don't seve beer at that Chillis.... Thumbs down.
I met my first wife in Georgia and we had a son named Ethan. He's now 8 years old.
Left the military after twelve years and started working as a governmant contractor for Lockheed Martin at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Florida. Now that's what I'm talkin about. I finally lived in a location where poeple concider their Vacation destination. I worked on the unmanned drone program of five years. Got a divorce but stayed in Panama City. I met my current wife when I was back in town visiting and a year later we were married. Left sunny Florida and moved back to West Monroe.
I went to work for Rogers Manufacturing Corp. in there engineering and design section. It was a challenge to learn everything they had to throw at me, but I hung in there. I'm no where near as skilled as my mentor, but hopefully that will all come in time.
Currently I work and try to fit in some hunting and fishing with my step-son Sterling between working on a long honey-do list from my wife.
