Thomas's Story
Graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville with an English degree and three minors ( Biology. Geography, and Philosophy) in 1969. Obviously I wasn't clear about a career path at that point in my life. Moved to Colorado and eventually obtained a teaching degree from U of Colorado Cragmore Campus in the Springs. Met my future wife Barb in the summer while working at a dude ranch as a desk clerk and chauffeur. Moved back to the mid-west when I got my first teaching job at Potosi, Wisconsin. e year and then was hired as a sixth grade teacher back at Mid-Prairie Wellman Elementary. Taught there for twenty-two years and then continued teaching sixth grade for eight more years in Kalona when the Junior High (7-9) became the Middle School (6-8). Retired in '06 after 31 years. We were blessed later in life with two of the best kids imaginable--Michael and Lindsay. I enjoy playing the guitar and writing. Hope all of my remaining classmates from MP are doing well and will continue to do so. All the best!
