After High School, I attended and graduated from West Liberty State in 1971, then joined the USAF. After attending Officers Training School in Texas and receiving my commission as a 2nd Lt., I went on to Pilot Training, received my wings and flew F-4C's and T-37s as an Instructor. While still on active duty, between 1977 and 1980, I attended Mississippi State University in the evenings to pursue my MBA in Management . I resigned from active duty in August of 1980 and joined the Air National Guard, where I continued flying the F-4 and the F-16 until my Military Retirement in 1993 as a Lt. Col. serving as the Air Operations Commander of the 136 FIS and the 107 FIG. In 1981, while serving in the Mississippi Air National Guard, I was hired by USAirways as a crew member. I then transferred to the New York Air National Guard to be closer to my Airline crew base in Pittsburgh. I retired from USAirways in 2010 as a Captain and Instructor on the Boeing 737.
